Piazza di Campo de’ Fiori is a rectangular public space near Piazza Navona. It’s known for its tremendous daily produce market, in operation since 1869. Fresh flowers dominate the offerings, but but you can also find fresh produce, spices and touristy gifts under the canopies. The buildings surrounding the courtyard have changed little for hundreds of years. Perhaps another trip (without the kids) would allow me to enjoy the changes in light on the buildings for the better part of a day. There is no shortage of cafes in Campo de’ Fiori to launch this sort of static expedition.
One famous person is immortalized in this shot, as well as a white police vehicle that nearly ran me over as I packed up my tripod.
